Guns in Hospitals

by saylagare on December 20, 2009

As the so-called Health Care bill continues to wend its way through Congress, we are left to wonder, what next? On one side, we have the Republicans and the “Teabaggers” ranting and railing and fear-mongering on totally imaginary issues. On the other side, we have the Democrats giving lip-service to the public while lining their pockets with the money of the “health care” industry.

As things stand now, the American public is set up to be beggared until they die. The insurance companies will still enjoy anti-trust exemptions. Americans will be forced to buy “insurance” from them with no caps on how high the premiums and deductibles will be. With the ban on repatriation of drugs, the pharmaceutical companies maintain their ability to charge outrageous prices to the American consumer. This is a total win for the industry and a total loss for the American public.

It’s also a total loss for the Democrats. They are now in a lose-lose situation. They want a bill at any cost. They may now find that cost too high. The nay-saying strategy of the Republican Party and the misdirected anger of the Tea Party movement may prove successful to the detriment of America. By selling out to the industry, the Democrats have opened the door for the lunatic fringe. If people thought things were bad during the Bush Administration, even God will not help us when the far wrong (not right) gets back in control. Armageddon, here we come.

Only a few items remain to finish off this Health Care debate. The anti-choice movement needs to get the stupid Stupak amendment back into the bill, further undermining Roe v Wade. The coup de grace, however, should come from the NRA. Like the joke of a bill that rewarded the credit card industry, the National Rifle Association should add the ultimate rider; guns in hospitals. That way, we would no longer need to worry about death panels, whether from the government or the industry. We could make our own end-of-life decisions.
